US bans flights over Iran airspace; cargo movements to be affected





The US Federal Aviation Administration has barred US airlines from flying in an overwater area of Tehran-controlled airspace over the Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman due to escalating tensions. The move is bound to add significantly to costs of passenger, air cargo flights and operations.
